The La Sportiva Helios 2.0 is a lightweight, low offset trail shoe with sticky rubber outsole offering excellent grip. It's best for covering hard, natural surfaces at high speeds and it offers exceptional value for money.
Forefoot, neutral strikers allow us to welcome you to your new everyday runaround. La Sportiva call it a “door to trail” style shoe designed for training and running on hard off-road terrain. Fresh out of the box, the shoes really give you a confident feeling, they have a really solid feel to them.
The shoe is a lightweight offering that also packs a punch in the cushioning department. La Sportiva tell us it is a minimalist shoe designed for sky races but to be honest such is the cushioning you will not be alarmed with its performance at lower altitudes and rather more mundane surfaces that us mere mortals have to put up with.
The Helios 2.0 is soft and extremely comfortable, ideal for everyday wear and for running on trail paths on rocky terrain thanks to the Cushion Platform™ insert that provides greater shock absorption. The upper is extremely lightweight and the shoe feels very comfortable on-foot. On the run, they feel suprisingly cushioned with exceptional grip. Something we were not expecting at this price.
Injection Molded MEMlex EVA, this shoe offers protection on the trails while also keeping the shoe light and nimble.
HyDrain mesh offers maximum breathability and drainage.
The MD EXTRA Light sole with FriXion blend and AT lugs guarantees an extremely good grip on slippery terrain.
The The La Sportiva Helios 2.0 is a bit of a suprise. It's designed by the mountain running company, obviously pitched at the lower end of the sky running fraternity, but this shoe will perform very well on stony and muddy trails for those of us who live in a a few hundred miles away from the nearest mountain range! They're lightweight, and offer excellent grip. Good shoe, great value.
MIDSOLE
Morpho Dynamic Injection Molded MEMlex EVA dissipates impact forces, creating a smooth stable and cushioned ride.
Cushion platform provides excellent shock absorption with plenty of comfort.
OUTSOLE
FriXion AT is a versatile sticky compound designed to provide unrelenting traction on a variety of terrains.
VA Wave is an outsole pattern with outstanding flexibility and responsiveness, offering a smooth ride over a variety of surfaces.
UPPER
HyDrain Nylon Mesh allows for quick drainage while keeping out debris.
Wicking EVA Air Mesh throughout the upper keeps feet cool and ventilated while fending off moisture.
Lacing Harness is a thermoplastic unit extending from the lacing eyelets to the midsole for a snug, secure fit.
