A motion control shoe for Altra fans or those wishing to try a more 'natural' feeling shoe. The Provision 4 is a perfect place to start your natural journey.
The new Altra 4 has been developed and designed with an innovative arch design which reduces the inward rolling motion of the foot in a unique way.
A 27mm stack height provides ample cushioning in this shoe and gives it an incredibly soft cushioned feel for a support type shoe. The geometry of the cushioning slightly offsets the foot to reduce over-pronation and along with the brand’s own Guiderail system helps reduce roll to a minimum.
The Guiderail in this shoe sits more to the rearfoot of the shoe so basically catches any roll early on in the gait. It isn’t intrusive and the shoe remains very light at 232g.
Of course, Altra is known for their ‘foot-shaped’ shoes, with a broad toe box and exaggerated shape. This in itself increases stability by allowing the toes to splay more and combined with the shoes other control devices makes for a lightweight, highly effective, zero drop solution to over-pronation.
A standard rubber outsole is durable enough
Designed for the mild overpronator, the Altra Provision 4 is an everyday road running shoe with unique stability features, balanced cushioning, and a roomy toe box.
A-Bound is a recycled, environmentally friendly midsole compound for resilient underfoot protection.
Guide Rail technology is incorporated into the A-Bound midsole for adaptive stability.
Natural Ride System (NRS) design includes a more natural, foot-shaped last, zero millimeter heel to toe drop, and metatarsal-specific shapes in the outsole to assist in proper foot mechanics and allow for more natural foot movement.
Natural Foot Design follows the natural shape of the foot for ultimate comfort.
Rubber outsole offers increased durability and traction.
Guidance Line follows the natural construction of the human foot for maximum flexibility and a responsive ride.
Engineered Mesh forefoot wicks water away from your foot while remaining light and breathable.
PU insole offers a soft, yet bouncy step-in feel
